Watched Julie and Julia today

I do NOT want to learn how to de-bone a duck.  And the amount of butter used made me feel ill. Of course it’s probably the butter that makes the food taste so great but I could almost feel my arteries clogging just watching!

I’m thinking perhaps I should have watched it tomorrow just before or after Junior MasterChef Australia.  Seriously, have you seen how brilliantly these kids can cook? The oldest are 12!

Of course because I watched the movie today and Junior MasterChef is on tomorrow and then Monday night as well, so I get to have 3 days feeling inadequate in the cooking stakes. Luckily, I have some redeeming characteristics (suggestions, anyone?) but cooking is so not my forte.

Actually I didn't even have to think about cooking tonight as today is McHappy Day so we had McDonalds for dinner. I know a few people who have stayed at a Ronald McDonald House so it’s a cause close to my heart.

I hope you had a nice Saturday. What did you do today? Or what are you planning to do?

I watched that movie when I was home sick one day recently and I still don't know what to make of it. I think it did make me want to start creating again in the kitchen, so I guess that's a good thing. I love cooking, just can't seem to find enough time to spend doing it. Although, I can't bear to watch those junior masterchefs, they are just so brilliant!!

OMG deboning a chicken is so on my to-do list. Why? I have NO IDEA. I did however, really love that movie. I can totally relate to Julie's troublesome cooking. But I can't give up. Every once in awhile I get a wild hair and cook something crazy. Saturday = work. Have you seen "Shining Through"? It is with Melanie Griffith and Michael Douglas. It is my all time favorite movie.

Julie & Julia is one of my favorites. I don't know why, but I smile through most of it. After both reading and watching it the first time, I actually spent a day making Boeuf Bourguignon and blogged about it. I may never make it again! =P
