I’ve got nothing to say

But as I’m doing NaBloPoMo I have to post something.  So this it it.

I have nothing to say that’s worth reading this evening.  I’ve had a vaguely busy week and am looking forward to this Queen’s Birthday Long weekend.  Which of course isn’t on the Queen’s (Elizabeth 2 that is)  Birthday at all.  For some reason I think perhaps this celebrates the birth of Queen Victoria but I could be very confused.  And despite it not even being 8.30 at tonight I’m too tired to research right now.  I’ve been wanting to go to bed since 6.30 so I’ll leave it here.

Catch you all tomorrow.

I've always thought (for as long as I can remember and how I came to believe this I have no idea), that April is too full of public holidays with Easter, Anzac Day etc that October was decided on as a blank month when we could all do with a break...

See? Weirdly comforting but totally improbable logic. i have no idea. :P

Sleep tight, we have our Queen Birthday weekend in late Sept/early Oct over here in the West - strange indeed.

Aha. I've discovered that it was decided that it become the first Monday in June, except in WA, after the death of George V. Before that it used to move around with the Monarchs actual birthday.
